Public Art

Public Art Projects - MVCSC also has over 20 years of history in Public Art Projects working mainly with Youth Volunteers.  Examples include: Anti-graffiti programs where volunteers created murals in city of Lawrence; a Batik piece of art created in the year 2000 dedicated to Martin Luther King which was invited by the Speaker of the US House of Representatives and was displayed in the Canon Building Rotunda in Washington DC.

MVCSC has also created historic murals depicting the many theaters in Lawrence.

This is a permanent part of the Lawrence Public Library's History Room. Other art projects worked with the Prayer Shawl Ministry and the Cuddles for Cuties, a doll making program that benefits children literally around the country.  MVCSC has also participated in a cultural exchange program with Colombo American, Medellin, Colombia
